I made this pattern, “Tree of Life,” by tiling my Nirvana pattern, which I made using a small piece of my Forest Spirit painting. I love the way that tiling a spiral pattern brings a whole new dimension to my work, creating new forms through the intersections and interplay.
Since this piece was created from a physical painting, I keep the hard edges of the spiraled pieces in place as a nod to the original format.
