Forest Spirit and Variants

“Forest Spirit” was my first painting using the technique of blowing ink. I let the initial ink painting sit for quite a while, looking at it from various angles, before deciding that I was reminded of a creature made of roots. That led to me using a forest theme, and I’m very pleased with the results.

What story do you see in each of these paintings? I’d love to hear them!

I also love Creating Digital Color Variations. I’ve found this process especially fun with Forest Spirit as a base, experimenting with elements and other concepts as I play with changing the colors while also retaining interest and depth. Below are the six variants I have so far.
